Position: Certification Engineer

Position Summary:
Our client requires a certification engineer to join the QA and projects team for assistance with the following tasks, in
order to reduce existing project manager workload and enhance the level of documentation and quicker service to
customers during close-out, final documentation phase.
. Work with project managers and quality manager to set project priorities.
. Work with project document controllers to ensure documentation flow.
. Develop project format MRBs and feasibility of standardised documentation packs for a range of equipment.
. Assist with materials inspection.
. Liaise with suppliers to ensure compliance and documentation build up.
. Develop an interface role with notified bodies retained for CE marked equipment i.e. defining their role, issue scope document for quotation by other NBs.
. Develop EC Declaration of Conformity for review.
. Technical review of submitted MRB data to ensure:
- Traceability
- Certification meets project requirements- it is exactly as approved.
. Manage / compile project MRBs.
. Coordinate IOM completion activities in-house.
. Liaise with document control function to manager digital scanning and editing activities for MRB and IOM asrequired.
. Proactively carry out certification related visits at fabricator sites as required.
. Manage archiving service to proposals, operations and aftermarket functions.

Qualifications:
Required: ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering (or higher) but experience will be a major consideration.

Experience Required:
. Experienced certification engineer or materials engineer with a package engineering background.
. General experience with manufacturing, welding, NDT and certification for EC directives e.g. PED, ATEX.
. Experience of pressure vessel and structural steel fabrication and comfortable with working with client
specifications and traceability requirements to meet statutory and code requirements.
. A working knowledge of HSE practices (training would be available).

Skills Required:
. Should be personable and have a good outlook.
. Should be capable of face- to-face dealings with suppliers and customer representatives on a technical level.
. Have a practical approach to achieving project objectives while ensuring that contract requirements are fulfilled.
. Expected to build a positive working relationship with our manufacturers and suppliers.

Other Factors:
This role may involve short term travel to UK and overseas locations, mainly overnight stays but occasionally longer
periods.
