JOB FUNCTION:
Works as part of a team and is responsible for the installation, maintenance and calibration of instrumentation systems in the factory.
Provision of maintenance and repair service for pneumatic and electronic instruments and advise on maintenance routines.
Provision of an installation and commissioning service on new equipment and modify existing equipment.
Advise users on correct operation and use of instruments and process control systems.
Responsible for correct implementation of routine maintenance procedures.
Can suggest modifications of instruments, systems or work methods to the Team Manager.

SKILLS:
Knowledge Required:
Completed either an appropriate instrument engineering apprenticeship or relevant course.
Has a proven competency in hazardous area equipment maintenance.
The ability to; interpret circuit diagram and other engineering drawings, perform fault diagnosis, analyse data, use computer systems eg EPMS and perform appropriate administration duties.
Understand and apply Company and Site procedures and standards.

Responsibility
Reports to Team Manager.
Must demonstrate an ability to work in a safe, systematic and accurate manner, without direct supervision.
For self and others on Health, Safety & Environmental issues
Will carry out duties in a safe and professional manner.
Will assist other people within the team to resolve issues and problems as they arise.
Responsibility to provide on the job training of instrument staff/apprentices at the discretion of the Team Manager.
Ensure compliance with all appropriate SHE and cGMP procedures and practices.
Be proactive in problem solving and understanding customer requirements and issues.
Responsibility to the Team Manager to advise of areas where improvement is required and discuss current advances in the instrument field.
Responsible for care of Instrument Calibration Workshop, test equipment and personal tools. Is aware of cost controls and may provide cost estimates, where practical.
Works to the requirements of the Team Manager with a high level of technical responsibility.
Responsible for organising routine maintenance workload in conjunction with EPMS and operational requirements.
For Company property and equipment.

Documentation:
Keep maintenance records of all equipment via EPMS.
Produce relevant documentation for Critical Instrument calibrations, Intrinsic Safety checks Pre-Installation checks etc.
Obtain Permit to Work (classes A, B and C) in all areas, where required.
Requisition materials as necessary for the job

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
Attends training courses and lectures that support the maintenance role, including,
Health, safety and environmental courses and briefings.
New plant and equipment familiarisation and education.
New Product Introduction Awareness training

Can be developed into the area of flexible working/boundary skill block areas as appropriate.
Eligible for promotion in the technical grades with suitable technical qualifications and experience.
Eligible for inclusion on the stand in list and call out rota with relevant training and experience.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
To be aware of and understand appropriate commitments/requirements of the Quality Management System.
To understand and follow the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice.
To take action to rectify or report deviations from GMP or the QMS.
