1st, 2nd & 3rd line support with a mix of Helpdesk and networking which will included on site & remote. Req'd to have commercial exp. of LAN/WAN, ensuring the integrity of the data, network operating sys. at all times. Installation of Network Hardware & Software.Monitoring & record keeping of sys. & dealing with exceptions as they arise. Documentation. Creation, maintenance & monitoring of users on all sys's. Ensures the integrity of the data & the network by monitoring the functioning & capacity of LAN, WAN, Routers, Switches & Firewalls, alerting the members of the infrastructure/network team of any issues. Sys. backed up, servers are functioning, checking data restores & backup media at an agreed frequency.Maintain the IP addressing schema following agreed procedures. Relevant MCP modules or equivalent degree level qualification or equivalent commerical exp.as an IT Support Technician / Network Administrator. Exp of working within an NHS/PCT environment is highly desirable. Project and audit experience. ITIL Foundation Qualification awareness essential, CCNA, Novell CLP 10 qualification, Prince 2 Project Management Foundation qualif. awareness essential. Significant operational ICT knowledge in one or more of the following areas, Network Management (CISCO), Server Management (Novell, Microsoft, UNIX/Linux/AIX).Exp. of diagnosing faulty equip., Infrastructure Hardware, Servers, PC's & peripherals & be able to use specialised diagnostic software together with the ability to problem solve/repair. Exp of installing, configuring & maintaining software. Must understand the req's of the Data Protection Act 1998, Computer Misuse Act 1990.Car owner / driver, as this role may require travel to other sites.
