Our client, a large rail organisation, is looking to recruit a buyer to their offices based in Birmingham. You will be working for the Infrastructure Investment Construction team and will be predominately sourcing construction goods and services for works being delivered by the function group.

Accountabilities:
1. Undertake full range of procurement activities including obtaining supplier prices, tendering negotiation and purchase order placement.
2. Assist in the procurement of higher value and more complex commodities.
3. Provision of dedicated support to senior staff in commodity area
4. Target specific goods, services and/or suppliers to identify how tangible improvements may be made in the procurement of these goods and services.

Essential
� Commercial experience and aptitude.
� Understanding of procurement processes.
� Knowledge within the construction sector.
Desirable
� Knowledge of procurement and competition legislation, procurement procedures, processes, systems and controls.
� Membership or training for qualifications in relevant professional institution.
� E-Tendering and Oracle experience.
