Our client, a leading engineering consultancy based in South Yorkshire, is looking to recruit a Controls Design Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a previous experience of SCADA /Telemetry and PLC systems for all aspects of a project lifecycle including, design, implementation, testing and commissioning under the supervision of a project manager, ideally with the following software;
Allen Bradley (SLC & Control Logix)
Siements S7 300/400

Previous experience of different communications media with respect to SCADA / PLC systems (Ethernet / Proprietary PLC Networks / Serial). As well as previous experience in the preparation of design documentation including the following; ESD and safety system hardware and software design. Functional Design Specifications detailing the scope of work and overall functional requirements for a project. Detailed Design Specifications including project hardware and software detailed design elements. (Including the use of flow diagrams and pseudo code for software applications). System overview, panel layout, communications and electrical drawings. Test specifications and Operation and maintenance manuals.


The candidate must be responsible and be able to adhere to strict quality control and administration procedures. Must be prepared to adopt a flexible and responsible attitude to the working day in order to achieve objectives and must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience within Oil and Gas and other process industries would be an advantage.
